Hurricane Florence Paid a Visit

The Cat 1 storm that hit Wilmington on Sept 14, destroyed one of the home’s immense chimneys, creating a roof cave-in and causing extensive damage to the interior of the home. The front doors were blown in by the storm, which compounded the internal wind and rain destruction. We also lost a centuries old oak tree in the back yard, ripping up the rear brick stairs to the veranda off the dining room, and tearing apart the sunroom. See Chuck Pennington’s interview on WECT Wilmington.

So now, the clean up and renovation begins. We restored this gorgeous historic home once, and we will do it again.

We are not taking any reservations for the foreseeable future. Follow The Verandas on Facebook for updates.
