Verandas is also less than thirty minutes by car from southeastern North Carolina’s beaches: Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, and Kure Beach. The North Carolina State Park is full of hiking trails, Fort Fisher is a must for Civil War history buffs, and the Fort Fisher Aquarium is a favorite family stop. If you want to venture further, you can take your car right on the Fort Fisher ferry and cross to scenic and charming Southport North Carolina.
